This last weekend I had the honor of photographing this gorgeous wedding at Empire Mills in Madison Georgia. I’ve seen so many cool wedding venues across Atlanta and this one tops the charts! I am already hoping that I can come back here again – it is such a beautiful place. I knew right after chatting with Sean and Ruskee over the phone (maybe 6 months ago) that they were an amazing couple with adventurous & thoughtful hearts. Sean is so calm and collected while Ruskee has a more energetic soul! They are so perfect together! After dating for around 5 years, it was a no-brainer that these two will stand the test of time.

I was so excited to hear that their wedding was in Madison Georgia….because my sister actually got married down the same road! What are the odds of that?! The exact same road! Crazy, right?!

My favorite part of the day was when we were able to take a few portraits of them right after their first look. Side-note…. I love when couples decide to do a first look – it truly makes their portrait time more relaxed and you get to spend more time at your reception! And you absolutely get more photos together!! Anyways, Empire Mills has a lot of beautiful brick areas, but I was instantly drawn to the wildflower area behind the venue. Since I knew both Sean and Ruskee love the outdoors, I knew this area would match their personalities and story. And goodness, did it turn out beautifully! And with every wedding, I love taking pictures of the couple after the ceremony – after they are officially married! During that time the sunlight changed into a glowy masterpiece – my photographer heart was so happy for them! Such a beautiful day with a beautiful couple. And like everyone kept saying – you guys really are going to have beautiful babies 😉

I absolutely love when couples decide to do a first look! It adds an extra moment for the bride and groom and it allowed us to take more pictures of Sean & Ruskee. Win-win!

These next photos are in the secret sunshine spot I mentioned earlier! I think these are my ultimate favorites!

I always like to do the first look earlier in the day, so that the bride & groom can spend more of the day together and not worry about seeing each other. Right after some portraits of them, we were able to get the full bridal party together. Love how these turned out!

Ceremony time!

And after every wedding (first-look or not) I always love taking some pictures of the bride & groom after the ceremony. Usually the light changes and gives you a different look and feel! I think these turned out to romantic and dreamy!

Now to the reception! So much fun dancing! Love it!

It’s easily becoming one of my favorite ting to do – sneak the bride & groom away during the reception for a cool night shot! Just an extra photo to mix things up!
